I am a weapon of massive consumption, it's not my fault, it's how I'm programmed to function.

It says a lot about the type of person I am and the type of person I would grow up to be that when I was very small, I used to read the Argos catalogue and desperately wish that I could wave a magic wand and make all the toys REAL. Not real as in Toy Story, talking to me, you understand (although I did totally believe that) but real as in ‘I want this Barbie. Now I have this Barbie!’

With an attitude like that, it’s no wonder that the recent ASOS competition, in which you were given the chance to win a basket full of £1000 worth of products of your choice, was basically a dream come true. I didn’t win. But I did find it alarmingly easy to find £1000 worth of things from ASOS that I want. A lot. Here’s my list... what was yours?

The clever part of this competition, of course, is that now I’m not convinced I can go on living my life without owning most of the things above. Damn you, ASOS. Damn you.

  1. Huh, clever people. I used to have the same dream of making thing in catalogues real. These days I do the same thing with Indian takeaway menus. *Lamb bhuna... appear!*

  3. Oh what a wish list! Don't fret too much about the River Island Paris print dress though - I bought it and the fit is weird in the extreme. I tracked down the skirt version in the sale - fingers crossed that that's more flattering on me.

  4. I pretty much want all of those bags, and that first black coat! Possibly the worst post to read while on a month long spending ban :p Also, I was that girl too! I had many an Argos wishlist, conveniently left by my Mum's handbag each week! Some things just never change...! xx

I refuse to go to the ASOS website for a while now as I always tend to spend loads there.

  15. Oooo I got a dress very like that denim dress from (shame) Matalan the other day — I'm going to sew it a bit to give it more shape!

Wish I'd heard about this competition. SO jealous of the person that won :-(
