I already showed you a flash of leg a couple of weeks back, when I broke the leggings out. But now the sun has well and truly come out - and then gone back in again - I decided to bare my white-as-snow limbs to the world. I'll be honest, though, I've never CARED about having tanned legs. Which is probably just as well, because my legs don't tan. Ever. They don't even BURN - which is weird, as the rest of me does. So, I embrace the pale, even if they are practically light-reflecting in their glowyness. But glowing skin is GOOD, right?
On Saturday morning I was doing the old fashioned try-everything-on-oooh-I'd-forgotten-about-this-oh-hai-thar-Mr-Tumnus-rummage-through-wardrobe routine that I do every now and then. It's fun! And I discovered this, which I bought two summers ago. I debated whether or not it was still stylish, or even if it still suited me, but I tried it on and was pleasantly surprised! I fear stripes a little, because if you're of a busty nature, they're not always that flattering, but I LIKE stripes, and sometimes I just don't care.
Dress - New Look
Wedges - New Look
Necklace - "You Give Love A Bad Name"
Sunglasses - Primark
Nail Polish - Eiffel For This Color (OPI)
Tights - HA! Screw you, tights! I don't need you any more!
Also, I finally mastered the Heidi braids! I love this hairstyle - I'll be relying on it at Glastonbury, for sure. I popped in to see my parents and they were most amused - apparently it was my Dad's mum's go-to-hairstyle. Stylish lady, evidently.
I think I'll be back to the indoor outfit photos next week though. I'd almost finished posing and looking off to the side when I realised that my next door neighbour was watching me with a bemused smile. OH THE EMBARRASSMENT.
In other news - I HIT 500 FOLLOWERS! I'm so excited, because I really like round numbers and 5 is TOTALLY my favourite times table, you guys. I am plotting a giveaway to celebrate, and I promise I'll get it up soon!
Laaav your hair and your wedges. That does truly sound embaressing ! Shoulve given a little wave :) xxx

Loving the post title. I may have screamed that song at the top of my lungs as we drove across Yorkshire last week, or erm I may not have done.
ReplyDeleteYour neighbour is nooo-seeee!
You look fab and stripes suit you. As does the hair. I'm just realising that my hair is now long enough to play around with. I'm going to give that style a go this summer.
Congrats on hitting the big 500, that's so awesome! My legs do the weird don't burn-don't tan thing too, it's really bizarre!
ReplyDeleteOne day my hair will be long enough for Heidi braids dammit, I am so jealous!
Aw you look lovely Sarah, the dress is so nice and summery, especially worn with wedges. Wish my hair was long enough to wear like yours (: Also, last photo = perfection. Congrats on 500 followers! xx
ReplyDeletePretty dress! I have one that's the same only different - solid blue top and stripy skirt!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your followers milestone! Very well-deserved!
First of all, I LOVE this song :) Secondly, you look gorgeous, thirdly, we can be glowing pale twins together although I can't compete with that hair!

I really love those wedges! I'm looking for a pair for Summer and those look lovely- as do you of course!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit - you look great :)
ReplyDeleteI constantly do that 'try everything on/find things I'd forgotten I owned' thing.. In fact, speaking of things I'd forgotten I owned - I definitely bought that dress once upon a time.. in black. I distinctly remember. (I didn't, until I saw you wearing it of course) However, I have NEVER worn it. & I don't even recall ever having seen it, since its purchase.. (Not such an uuncommon occurrence in my room, worringly) So, I'll have to go on a hunt & see if I can turn it out from its hiding place - you have inspired me!
I LOVE your hair like that. I WISH I could do exciting things with my hair. But I can do nothing. I lie. I can tie it up. Or I can leave it down. That's the extent of my hair skills :(
This comment has gone on long enough!

You look fab, love your hair and your legs looks great! I too embrace the paleness, but my legs are more of a bluish hue than white, I better hang onto my tights :P xxxx
ReplyDeleteYes! Embrace the pale!!
ReplyDeletePMSL at your neighbour watching you haha, too funny!
xx
I'm supposed to stay away from stripes as well but they're just too AMAZING. I'm liking the hair style and am very jealous you're going to Glasto...come onnn ticket resale x
ReplyDeleteI don't know who invented that stripes rule but they are clearly a moron. I reckon as long as the stripy garment in question fits nicely and is flattering, it's a winner because stripes RULE. And that dress looks wonderful on you - shape and fit are perfection.
ReplyDeletethat dress is so pretty, it really flatters you :)

Omg my legs are exactly the same! It's bad but I don't even bother with sunscreen on them because they stay the same...white. They've been burnt once, and I'm not even quite sure how that happened.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, very cute dress. The stripes are tres flattering on you =]
you look really cute. I am growing my hair until I can do it Heidi style again, it used to be my go to hairstyle too!
