You know, when it rains in ITALY, it’s still warm, so really not that bad. Unlike you, ENGLAND. With your constant drizzle and your coldness and did NO ONE TELL YOU IT WAS JUNE? I am choosing to believe this horrific weather is just to get all the rain out of the clouds (yeah, I totally understand how science works) before Glastonbury. RIGHT?
Basically the only day it didn’t rain at all in Tuscany was, fortuitously, the day my friend got married! (Seriously – thunderstorms and torrential rain on Friday. Thunderstorms and torrential rain on Sunday. Saturday? Blazing sunshine. Thank you, Mother Nature!)
It was one of my favourite ever weddings – partly because it went on for three days (on the Sunday, we all met up in the afternoon and played drinking games and then went swimming at midnight) – but also because it was really small and intimate, so we all got to spend loads of time with the bride. And didn’t she look beautiful?
I was kept busy at the wedding – not only did Jo ask me to take photographs (figuring, sensibly, that I’d be doing this anyway, as would our friend Russell who is way better at this type of thing than I am) but I also did her hair. Which meant I didn’t have very much time to sort myself out – luckily I’d planned what I was going to wear and do with my hair in advance, really! And I wore… THIS!
Dress – Warehouse
Shoes – Matalan
Jewellery – 21st birthday present!
The dress was a good option for a hot-weather wedding because it was so strappy and light, but by the time the wedding was over, and we’d eaten our five course, four hour lunch, it was feeling an awful lot tighter and I was dying to get it off. But as we had an hour to rest before the wedding reception, my friends and I had an outfit change. I love an outfit change! But you, my friends, will have to wait for that until next week (and it’s not from Warehouse!).
tell me about it! england is so annoying.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE that Interpol song <3
ReplyDelete(Also, you and the bride both look so pretty! :))
Oh my goodness this wedding looks so perfect! I hate that weddings are often so hierarchical. Unless your in the wedding party ie a bridesmaid you barely get to speak to the bride or groom at all. This sounds much much nicer - a genuinely lovely day with friends and family.
ReplyDeleteAlso your dress is awesome.
Like wow. x hivenn
ReplyDeleteOh this looks like such a lovely wedding. The intimate ones are always the best, they're more about spending time with the couple and less about the silly showy-ness of big weddings x
