The green green grass of holiday.

This weekend, my bestie and I decided to take a little trip across the water to the Isle of Wight. I've only been once before, for work, so it was high time I went for a proper holiday. We had such a lovely time - we drank lots of wine, ate an obscene amount of dip, had the most incredible chips either of us have ever had (they were BRUSHED WITH BATTER) and had an ice cream on the beach.

If you've never been, or are thinking of taking a weekend away, I so recommend. There's loads to do, the beaches are gorgeous (and plentiful) and it's really peaceful too. We stayed in a caravan at the Park Resorts park Nodes Point - and it was a great way to explore the island, plus a great base for the evenings to watch cheesy films and drink wine! Two days really wasn't enough, though, and I'd love to go back for a week next time.

These pictures were taken around St. Helens and Sandown. We also visited The Garlic Farm, which was so awesome, I'll tell you all about it in another post!

Bluest sea ever!
Tiny crab!
Ewww seaweed.
BEST CHIPS IN THE WORLD.
Wine + beach = :)

I used Carrie's Photoshop Actions for these pictures, by the way. They came out so well - I really recommend trying them out!

  1. It looks like you had a lovely time- I have always wanted to go for a little trip down to the Isle of Wight! Oh and those 2p machines are so addictive, I never thought I had a gambling problem until I had a shot of one of them in the arcade haha! xx

  2. Its 10 days until I head to Dorset and I cannot wait! I only hope we have at least a couple of days of nice weather!!

Looks like you had an amazing time! Another couple & me & the husband were going to head to IOW for August Bank holiday weekend but the other couple have a wedding in Milton Keynes on the Friday so it was too much of a trek. We're heading to Deal instead.

  7. When I saw those first 2 photos I thought these were photos from your Italian holiday! It amazes me how lovely beaches in the UK can look on a sunny day. It's rare...but when it happens it's priceless.
