Down by the river, in her own creepy world.

I wore this dress on a very warm Saturday to go to my friend's baby shower - which was, excitingly, held at Emirates Stadium in the posh bar where all the important people watch Arsenal matches (this was mostly exciting for the free booze and awesome spread - MINI CHEESEBURGERS). If I cared at ALL about football I could have gone for a nose around the locker room, but I really don't. Mini cheeseburgers, though, that I care about.

The New Look near my work seems to be a sale treasure trove - I've got so many absolute steals from there lately! Considering I'm trying to save money though, I really need to stop wandering in there on my lunch hours. I mean, £12 for a dress isn't going to break the bank but it is an excuse I use kind of a lot. Hey, this is week 85 of Friday Frocks - I use that excuse a HELL of a lot. The dress is quite baby shower-y (I feel like floral prints are eminently suitable for this kind of thing) but not very hot weather-y, being that kind of material that just seems to make you warmer. Eh, you win some, you lose some. Pass the vodka jellies. Who has vodka jellies at a baby shower, you ask? MY FRIENDS.

(I hasten to add the pregnant friend was not consuming vodka jellies, just encouraging others to do that).

Everything from New Look

True fact about me - I never wear the belt which comes with a dress. Mostly because they're normally horrible, and I have nicer belts. But when dresses come with a sash, I like to repurpose them as a hair accessory! BECAUSE MATCHING IS AWESOME.

The dress then saw me through an evening of rum and Eurovision. You know, I was never a fan of Jedward, but I feel like Eurovision is their natural home. They had a water feature and then GOT ALL UP INSIDE IT. What a show. What a show.

Anyway. What are you up to this weekend? 4 Days! BAM! I am mainly doing the whole family and friends thing, and also a day trip to Poole. Yes, plans have been made, but crucially, they are plans that fit around sleeping a LOT. Vast amounts of sleeping are the way forward, I feel.

PS - When writing this post and halfheartedly livetweeting the Matrix, I asked for volunteers to write this for me. Amy obliged:

HIYA IT'S SARAH AGAIN HERE I AM LOOKING NICE IN PURPLE DOING A CUTE LITTLE TWEE FACE I AM TURNING 30 BUT I LOOK 17 LOL SEE YA BYE

  3. Very cute! That babyshower sounds much for fun than ones I've been to. The last one I went to had an ann summers party which just seemed wrong! Mini-cheese burgers! I'm veggie, but anything mini when it comes to food just seems so much more appealing! Have a great bank holiday weekend. I'm a teacher so I have a week off if I ever get through the crazy pile of marking, planning and assessment I brought home! x

  7. For some strange reason, I misread that last bit as 'looking nice in a puddle' instead of 'nice in purple'. I slightly love the alternative my brain provided me with there. Oh dear...

  8. Hahaha, I do the same thing. A belt is always a hair ribbon! This purple one looks lovely against your flaming locks.
