Wishing and hoping and thinking and praying and planning and dreaming

I have gone on (and on and on and on) about how great 30ths are - an excuse to totally push the boat out when it comes to parties. But there's quite a lot of pressure on it, really, especially with presents. It's the same with 21sts - there's a whole thing about buying LANDMARK GIFTS because it is a LANDMARK BIRTHDAY. I am expecting to get a lot of photoframes with thoughtful photos in them (that's totally okay though - I love thoughtful photos! I also love drunk stupid photos!).

So what am I wishing for this year?

My friend Russ is a much better photographer than I am - I know this because we have the same camera, but his photos are brilliant and mine don't come close. I spend a lot of time trying to absorb some of his genius - I suspect it comes down to not relying solely on the Auto setting the entire time - but one thing I notice is that every time he takes party photos with his flashgun, the colours are bright, vibrant and everyone's skin looks really good. I want one.

A watch
My current watch was a 21st birthday present from my brother and sister, and it has lasted me well over the last 9 years. But it's rather scratched, and the logo has fallen off, and I really rather need another one. I love this one, but obviously I'd be horrified if anyone spent Gucci-levels of money on me!

There are some dresses which are AMAZING. There are some which you may only wear once, but you'll feel like a princess in it. And there are some that are just incredibly... YOU. Could have been made for you. You'll wear them until they fall apart - summer, winter and everything in between. This is one of those dresses.

...and this is one of the former dresses. How much will I wear it? I don't know. But I want it. Actually, I already have the shorter version, but I wish this one had existed first of all. The shorter one is VERY short.

Vera Wang Princess
My favourite perfume in the world. Always, please.

Amaretto
When in doubt, booze.

Ha, this is my wish fulfilment item. They're just so PRETTY. And functional! And really flipping pricey.

Eye Surgery
Er, speaking of pricey. It actually may well be happening, though, because my parents are awesome. Being able to SEE when I wake up in the morning... holy crap.

I've wanted one for about 3 years. Maybe I should just BUY one, really.

I want one in every colour, which means I will probably never be able to choose just the one.

And, obviously... fizz.
Champagne? Pah! I like the cheap stuff that tastes like sweeties.

I feel like a spoilt brat now. What I want most of all is to have all the people I love in one happy little room of Party. But, you know. If they HAVE to bring presents, well. I wouldn't want to be RUDE.

  1. I like the satchel, and flash guns are really nice. I have one for my film camera, but I have yet to know how to use it properly.

  3. I'm with you on the satchels. I can't choose a colour and so will probably never manage to part with my cash for one. WHAT IF I CHOOSE THE WRONG COLOUR???
