All these things that I've done

The New Year always makes me want to completely reinvent myself. Much like every time I watch the film Devil Wears Prada - it makes me want to straighten my hair and wear heels every day and be super glamorous all the time. ALL THE TIME.

It won't happen, of course, because I like spending as much of my mornings as possible asleep, not faffing about with my ghds or hobbling to my car in stilettos. Nope. But what I CAN do is have a big old wardrobe sort out and attempt to compile one of those capsule wardrobes I've heard so much about. I mean, let's not get CRAZY - the dresses are going nowhere - but what I would like is some proper BASICS that I will wear forever.

Everyone needs a classic pair of knee high boots like these ladies boots from Duo (and what's amazing is they fit my awkward giant calves).

Duo, £165

See also - the timeless black pump! I really need to upgrade my Primark ones.

Duo, £110

I'd love a new beautiful bag that I could use for everywhere - I've been using this one for a while now and I'm starting to get bored of it. I do, desperately, want a designer bag, and I'm starting to think that maybe it is something I should look into. But obviously, it needs to be PERFECT because I'd have to keep it forever, obvs. Right now, the top contenders are Mulberry or this Vivienne Westwood handbag from Spartoo.

Vivienne Westwood, £432 | Mulberry, £477

The perfect black blazer. HOW DO I NOT HAVE ONE OF THESE? I love this one from ASOS! And I really want the cranberry version. LUSH.

ASOS, £60

Wow, it seems like classic apparently means a lot of black, huh? (It DOES go with everything, though.) So, in the spirit of sameyness, I'm going to throw in the perfect LBD:

Topshop, £50

...and a grey skirt that would go with everything:

Warehouse, £45

I was going to post something super colourful at the end but now all I keep seeing is clothes in muted tones that I LOVE. Maybe I am becoming practical in my old age?

  1. Practicality won't last ;-) Frivolity is way more fun! Although I do absolutely love that skirt.
