I'm a bad habit, one you cannot shake.

I don’t normally think a lot about what I write when I’m blogging, to be honest with you. Words come to be quite easily, as a rule (hey, I’m chatty) and even more so when it comes to talking about dresses. God, I love dresses. I mean, they’re so great, aren’t they?

This dress, though, I’ve been struggling with. Because I really like it, I REALLY do, but I do think it’s a bit weird. There’s a lot of awesome here – I adore the cut, for instance. But I can’t get over the fact that I feel a bit like I’m wearing upholstery. I think it’s because I kind of am? I mean, my Granny has a chair in this exact fabric, no word of a lie. I am wearing a chair.

And yet, whenever I try to write about how I am wearing a chair, I can’t find anything to say. I think it’s because I LIKE wearing a chair, and to continue to make fun of that fact would be insulting to the dress. Because, honestly, I think chair dresses might be the way forward. I mean, sure, it’s a summery cut and yet the material is so thick that you would be a total mess if you wore it in the summer – but it looks so cute with a cardi and tights, doesn’t it? And yeah, there’s really not much give to it and it’s kind of tight on top – but that means it gives me amazing Pride & Prejudice cleavage and pulls in my waist. And, okay, I really wasn’t making it up about the print exactly matching my Granny’s armchair – but that just makes me want to go and take Garden State style pictures at her house whilst wearing the dress and sitting in the armchair.

So, it’s okay, chair dress. You ARE a bit weird. But that’s why I like you.
