It's December! The month of the year which makes it okay to eat six meals a day and have cream with ALL OF THEM. I love it so much. I'm already planning my Christmas cooking and baking, despite the fact that I'm not actually hosting. There'll be cookies and truffles and cinnamon rolls and maybe some pulled pork, and of course LOTS of cheese. And Baileys. And mince pies. With cream.
Over the past few years I've made lots of incredible Christmas recipe, and today, this most blessed of days, I have decided to share my favourites with you. Of course, if you decide to just order a takeaway and sack cooking off, I totally understand - so here's some HungryHouse discounts for food ordering online.
Four Cheese BBQ Pulled Pork Mac 'n' Cheese
This is an excellent recipe to use up all that leftover Christmas cheese, and the pulled pork is entirely optional (but does make it pretty epic).
It's an oldie but a goodie, and I pretty much always bring it to my family get-togethers. It's cream and sugar, what could go wrong? Also, this is the most foolproof meringue recipe I know.
These are SO EASY. I made them last year when I couldn't find any rosemary crackers in the shops, and now I just don't see the point in buying them when you can make them. These are excellent for your Christmas cheeseboard.
Baileys Flat White cocktail
Well, it's Christmas, there has to be some cocktails on this list. I don't usually like coffee, but apparently with booze, I'm all for it.
Boozy Apple Crumble
You know 'Put a bird on it'? At Christmas, my philosophy is similar, except it's 'Put some booze in it'. Apple crumble with added amaretto and whisky is just amazing. Trust me.
Fluffy Lemon Cookies
These are incredibly quick and easy to make, keep well, and would be excellent in a little gift hamper of homemade delights, which is my plan for many people this year as I just bought a house and may never have any money again.
Caramel and Peanut Butter Pie
It doesn't get more decadent than this.
Baileys and Salted Caramel Trifle
Oh wait, it DOES get more decadent than that. This is more decadent than that. It's brilliant.
Boozy Coconut Truffles
Oh, these Malibu infused truffles are amazing, and simple, and I have to make them every year now or my family and colleagues will riot.
New Year's Eve cocktails
The pictures from this post make me happy because CHRISTMAS TREE BOKEH. And the drinks don't suck either - Spiced Snowball, Cranberry and Coconut Punch and Amaretto Ginger Beer. Nom nom.
OH GOD I CAN'T WAIT. What are you making this year?
