The lonely goatherd.

One of my favourite second-day hairstyles is the Heidi or Milkmaid braid. It's super simple, yet doesn't look it - I'm always asked how I do it. Which, I think is slightly different to most people, but my hair is very thick and mere grips alone will not hold it!

I've been meaning to do it for ages, but it has taken this long for my hair to finally be in a position for me to do some tutorial business! Yeah man.

Have fun, skipping around with a bunch of goats. Like I do, constantly.

  1. Sarah, your posts make me chuckle like no one else's. Seriously. Get down with your bad plaiting self? I will absolutely do so, now, because I've never got other tutorials for this style to work for me, because my hair's thick too. Your way totally makes more sense! So thanks. I'm off to see the goats.

Actually I used to have a goat, when I lived in Bangladesh as a kid for a few months. Then I came back to England, and when I returned, he'd be eaten at Eid. Ho hum.

  6. NGL, I'm a little disappointed in the lack of yodeling, goats and other related paraphernalia.

  7. Love this tutorial! I'd always wondered how this look was done - pleased to see that it looks relatively easy to do.
The phrase "rinse and repeat" used to really confuse me, haha. x

  12. You are so, so adorable! The expression 'Tangly Tess' makes me giggle :) I have quite short hair and usually I'm pretty happy with it, but then I see people with awesome hair like you doing awesome things like this and get horribly jealous for a little bit.
