Start spreading the news...

Even though I’ve just come back from a few days in France, I’m already planning my next escape! I’m off to America in November and I cannot flipping wait. Ah! One of my favourite people ever, Erin, is celebrating her wedding in Texas and I’m making the trip over there to see her. Then I’m flying over to NYC with my buds and am going to hit the shops (and the restaurants) hard! So excited, SO EXCITED.

It would be, it would be so nice.

I often think that I mention my best friend Sha so much that people assume we're a couple. We're totally not! I mean, we have planned our wedding, but that's normal. Sha is one of my favourite people in the entire world and is in fact marrying someone else who is not me (WE COULD HAVE HAD BOYBAND THEMED TABLES, SHAHEINA) but that's actually fine because he is very nice and it means that I get to do one of my ultimate favourite things which is plan a hen do!

In an impressive feat we managed to keep the location a total secret until we arrived - Sha knew we were going to France but didn't know WHERE. Avignon seriously delivered though - it's a stunning location in the South of France, and whilst you were all battling the rain last weekend, we were sunbathing by the pool. THIS IS MY SMUG FACE.

I'm going to do a proper Avignon post next week as I have had NO time this week at all due to wedding cake baking (for someone who is not Sha, just to be confusing) but for now I wanted to share one of the outfits I wore. Our accommodation was a fashion blogger's DREAM. Beautiful gardens and lots of hidden little areas that I could potter off to with my tripod. To be honest though, I was with a bunch of girls who I love to pieces and feel entirely comfortable with so them catching a glimpse of me posing away wasn't horrifying in the least. But still. Yeah, I have no point.

This beautiful dress popped up on my Pinterest a little while ago and I just fell in love. I adore Modcloth, but it's one of those websites I cannot go on because it makes me miserable that they are so far away. And also it's dangerous. This website could lead me into bankruptcy. Beautifully dressed bankruptcy. In the end, I begged my American friend Cat to let me get this sent to her and for her to post it on. Which she did! With chocolate! It was fine becuase I then sent back chocolate. Chocolate makes everything better.

Isn't this perfect though? ISN'T IT? It's watermelons! I felt super stylish strutting around Avignon in this. I don't know what else to say about it, really, because LOOK at it. It's lush, right? Plus it has pockets. POCKETS.

I'm on a swing!

I think I'm ready to leap, I'm ready to live.

I'm in France! I'm in France! I sort of love that about scheduled posts. Especially when I am somewhere more exotic than home. FRANCE. Right now, you've just finished work and I am stuffing my face with wine and cheese. Not to rub it in. How about you have wine and cheese for dinner tonight? There we go.

My lover Amy bought me this cute dress for my birthday. I'm actually not a very pastels girl, but the prettiness of this print has won me over. It's so girlie and flowery and lush and totally goes with tights as well as bare legs. CROSS SEASONAL YOU KNOW. I popped the shoes on for these photos thinking that I might wear them out, and then was like 'No...' Turns out I am totally over the whole t-bar thing. Maybe I am finally growing out of the urge to dress like a four year old.

I decided to be all curly when I took the photos for this post. My hair is naturally curly, but lately I've got in the habit of wearing it up or curling it with ghds and had actually kind of forgotten what it does when left to its own devices (and helped along with some defrizzing magic potions which I can't recommend because they don't make them any more DAMNIT). It's pretty damn curly! But then sometimes it ends up being a frizzball so I can't embrace it all the time because it just won't let me.

Anyway. What are you doing this weekend? Me? Oh, not much. EXCEPT FOR HOW I AM IN FRANCE. More on that next week, probs!

I want it all, and I want it now.

So it turns out that Warehouse have started a 90 minute delivery service. 90 minutes, you guys! That kind of blows my mind. I am the most impatient online shopper ever, so the idea of ordering something at lunchtime and having it before the end of the afternoon is just like my dream.

As part of the campaign to launch this service, Warehouse have created a video about a girl who changes outfits every 90 minutes. I could totally do this. I think I have enough dresses to keep me going for at least a week, don't you? Yeah, you're right. Probably longer.

I love Warehouse too much anyway, so I wish I'd known about the competition that prompted this video beforehand so I could have submitted some of my favourite Warehouse outfits to be part of it. But as I missed that, here's some pretty stuff that's on Warehouse right now.

Oh right, the video! It's here. It's pretty cool, no?

I go crazy cause here isn't where I wanna be.

I'm not sure any of us are cool with how suddenly summer seemed to end. I mean, is that it? Is it totally over? I have sundresses I haven't worn yet! I know, I know, it was one of the hottest summers we've had for years and so if that WAS our lot, we should be happy and move on. But even so. Just a little bit more sun would have been swell.

I always think about clothes ahead of time though. So in the winter, I'll think about cute summer ensembles, and vice versa. I got this dress in the New Look sale earlier this year, and squeezed into it a couple of times in the spring, but had already decided that it was tailor made for winter and thick black tights. So it got cold, and I quickly brought out my Winter-in-waiting outfit. It made me feel a little better about it.

The bowler hat, I've had for at least a year. I put it on, consider going out in it, and then feel silly and take it off. But it's been rainy this week, and so a cute hat becomes super practical too. Love a bit of functional fashion. So I wore it to the pub and no one asked me if my name was John Steed because, well, I'm not sure that many people would get the reference. But yeah. Gonna get more into adventurous hats this year. DECISION MADE.

Truth be told, I never was yours

I am having one of those months where I can't spend any money which means that I can't stop finding clothes that I love. Usually, it's dresses. I mean, it's pretty well established that I love dresses. But lately... it's SKIRTS. I know! It's... well, okay, not that shocking.

I really don't wear many skirts though. I always find the fit trickier to get right than dresses, but there are so many adorbs examples out there at the moment that I am prepared to battle an awkward fit and have a full on skirt splurge. With opaque tights and killer heels for A/W? Oh yes.

Or, you know, if you're going to push the boat out completely, this amazing full circle skirt from Lanvin pretty much fits the bill... anyone fancy buying it for me?

Finally, I made the mistake of clicking through on a Modcloth email. Bad move - they're based in America and shippings, customs etc open up a whole world of complications. But just LOOK at this. It's beautiful. Sigh.

It's just past eight, and I'm feeling young and reckless.

Oh, okay. So you know last week I was all like 'I stayed out until 4am without drinking alcohol!' Well. This is what I wore! I know, sometimes my outfit posts do not actually take place a week apart. I'm sure you feel lied to and betrayed. But my hair looked really good last weekend, so I refuse to apologise.

I was pleasantly surprised to see how this dress fits - with a different print, I actually think it'd be an adorable daytime number. And it may well make it out for a festival next year, too. But I still think of it as a trashy night out dress - probably because the last time I wore it was to, um, a trashy night out. KNOW YOUR PLACE, DRESS.

Anyway. The night I wore this dress was kind of drunken and trashy, even though I was on the diet coke. This was awesome for me as it was a) cheap and b) meant that dancing the night away was just burning loads of calories. But staying in Oceana until it closed meant that I still felt kind of hungover the next night as I was exhausted and super dehydrated. I'm not really sure how to feel about that. But it meant I have heaps of embarrassing photos of my drunken work friends to show for it and none of me, so I think I feel pretty good about it. And it was the bank holiday, I had plenty of time to recover.

This weekend I am not intending on staying out until 4am. But I AM planning to get properly drunk for the first time in ages to celebrate Sha having her final wedding dress fitting and me discovering that my bridesmaid's dress fits, and I'm super excited about it. Expect tons of drunken tweets tomorrow night. I apologise in advance.

Little Red Riding Hood

Am I the only one who basically invents the perfect THING in my head and fixates on it so much that there is absolutely no way that it could ever exist because it’s so specific and amazing and, well, perfect? Well, I do this all the time. Like with my perfect coat. Two years ago I wrote (and drew) about the perfect little red coat with a nipped in waist and a full skirt and I sighed because it would never be mine. And... okay, I can’t really think of another example right now because I’m still on the coat. It would be so perfect, you guys. Look at the drawing! Look at it!

I could run around all winter in this and I would look so jazzy. SO JAZZY. I could creep up on people and they would think I was the midget from Don’t Look Now! OH HOW WE WOULD LAUGH. And I could spin around and it would be all red! And people would say ‘You’ve got red on you’ and I would say ‘I KNOW IT IS MY JAZZY COAT’. Basically my dream, right. An awesome quote and movie references. But no. No one ever makes the dream coat because it’s the DREAM coat. For it to exist would just be... impossible.

OR WOULD IT.

AHHHH IT’S THE PERFECT COAT YOU GUYS IT’S THE PERFECT COAT. Miss Selfridge have made it! They’ve made it and they don’t even KNOW that it’s the perfect coat, they were just like ‘Hey you guys, red’s in this year, let’s make a coat and stuff!’ YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW MISS SELFRIDGE. YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW.

Anyway, I’m going to buy this OBVIOUSLY as soon as I have a spare £79. BECAUSE IT IS AMAZING.

PS: I make no apologies for all the capslocking in this post. If I’d had my way it would have been all in capslock. CONSIDER YOURSELF LUCKY.
