Famous angels never come through England.

My friend Russell's amazing handiwork.

Anyone who follows me on Twitter will know that my favourite thing ever is watching rubbish telly and being mean about it. So, imagine my excitement about the Royal Wedding! I was going to watch it with friends! And wine! And be mean!

And I did all those things, of course, but here's the real twist - I SECRETLY ENJOYED THE ENTIRE THING. The dress! So classy, although okay, maybe a touch matronly, and really, Kate, I think you should have a sandwich. The outfits! Oh, Bea. Why are there tentacles coming out of your forehead? Oh, Queen. No one else can pull off head to toe yellow like you can. Bravo. The family reunions! What on earth did the Queen say to Camilla to make her look so crestfallen? Isn't Kate's brother ATTRACTIVE? Oh and everything else - plus ALL THE CUTE TIMES WILLS AND KATE SMILED AT EACH OTHER AWWW THEY ARE IN LOVE.

Finger sandwiches! And wine at 10am! Oh my!

The cupcakes were designed to look like the RING! How awesome is that?

Hooray! Pimms forever!

We then watched the Lifetime movie about William and Kate's amazing and boring love affair, which was dreadful, yet still somehow amazing. In short, it was the best day ever. Until my body decided to remind me, at about 10pm, that I'd been drinking for around ten hours and really couldn't handle that any more. I think I may still be hungover.

What did you get up to? And will YOUR liver, like mine, never recover from all the hearty, hearty patriotism?

  1. I watched it on the tele too and was completely transfixed from beginning to end. I really only wanted to see what the dress was like and see the balcony kiss, but I went Twitter-mental as well. Have posted today about some of the rather hideous outfits on show. x

  9. Haha this post really made me laugh. Your friend Russell seems like a funny chap! The list about how long the marriage will last made me laugh. I watched the entire thing too, I thought it was so lovely. Your little Royal Wedding feast looked good! Wish I'd had wine and engagement ring style cupcakes! xxx

  10. We were trying to be sensible and saved the food till after the ceremony. Probably not quite so sensible to neck several Kir Royales during the ceremony - I turned into drunken, greedy Alex and ate so much I had to spend the afternoon lying around groaning. Fun though!

  14. Hehe I had an anti wedding tea party and BBQ but ended up kind of engrossed in the whole thing (not the singing bit though)... Any excuse for gin at 10am. And it turns out that I'm a bit of a sucker for romance!
