This weekend just gone was a lovely, chilled mix of fireworks, friends and family.
On Saturday, I went to the fireworks in St Albans with my friends – it was always tradition for us to go every year, and it was only recently that we found out not all firework displays are as good. So if you’re Hertfordshire based (or fancy getting out of London for the night), I highly recommend for next year - they are ace. Some of the best around. There were only three of us this year, but we made mulled wine and mulled cider and had a fab time watching them explode by the Abbey. Ahhh, I love fireworks (but not that Katy Perry song. Yuck.). Then we headed back to Sha and Russ’s flat for a bit of X-Factor and a bit more mulled wine. Yay.
Then on Sunday, it was my littlest niece’s 1st birthday, so we headed off to Surrey for some quality family time. Lots of lovely baby cuddles, hooray. And even more fireworks!
Over the next couple of months – until the New Year, in fact – I have loads of social events on every single weekend (and quite a lot of weeknights, too). Which is amazing, don’t get me wrong – it’s nice to be popular – but having a quiet weekend once in a while with no mad partying and lots of sleep is kind of the best thing ever. What did you get up to?
Your fireworks photos are amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and me spent Bonfire night comforting Flossie our dog, she hates the noise. We did, however manage a few sparklers and a toffee apple or two...or ...three to be honest! Well, that's 3 of my 5 a day :D xx
I love your photos, I'd never get such clear ones! I'm in my first year of uni, so this was the first bonfire night away from my family- it felt really weird!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a great weekend! I love the ducks on the birthday cake :) x
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a fab weekend, love all the pictures!

We spent bonfire night with friends and their little girls (getting lots of hugs as honorary Auntie Jen) which was great. But I know what you mean about being sociable but very busy. My next clear weekend is just before Christmas and I have actually written it in as a 'Messing About Weekend' to make sure it stays that way! Fantastic firework pics btw - mine are all blurry and rubbish! Jen x
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty photos !
ReplyDeleteI really love firework pictures, there is something about them that just always catches my eyes. And these are no exception, truly lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteThe best one though is the one of your niece and her birthday cake...the look of sheer delight at a whole cake for her is delightful!
I used to go to this display when I was living in Hertfordshire and it was always so fun! Definitely going to come back home for it next year, the pictures are brilliant. x

I love fireworks, I haven't watched Fireworks in awhile, well unless through the trees on July 4th counts? Aww it's nice to be popular, I can't imagine being that in demand. I'm sure it will be loads of fun!

ReplyDeleteI went to some fireworks in Oxford which were a bit pants, although they did burn a wickerman at the end which was pretty cool!
