Mr Blue Sky, please tell us why you had to hide away for so long?

I already showed you a flash of leg a couple of weeks back, when I broke the leggings out. But now the sun has well and truly come out - and then gone back in again - I decided to bare my white-as-snow limbs to the world. I'll be honest, though, I've never CARED about having tanned legs. Which is probably just as well, because my legs don't tan. Ever. They don't even BURN - which is weird, as the rest of me does. So, I embrace the pale, even if they are practically light-reflecting in their glowyness. But glowing skin is GOOD, right?

On Saturday morning I was doing the old fashioned try-everything-on-oooh-I'd-forgotten-about-this-oh-hai-thar-Mr-Tumnus-rummage-through-wardrobe routine that I do every now and then. It's fun! And I discovered this, which I bought two summers ago. I debated whether or not it was still stylish, or even if it still suited me, but I tried it on and was pleasantly surprised! I fear stripes a little, because if you're of a busty nature, they're not always that flattering, but I LIKE stripes, and sometimes I just don't care.

Dress - New Look
Wedges - New Look
Sunglasses - Primark
Nail Polish - Eiffel For This Color (OPI)
Tights - HA! Screw you, tights! I don't need you any more!

Also, I finally mastered the Heidi braids! I love this hairstyle - I'll be relying on it at Glastonbury, for sure. I popped in to see my parents and they were most amused - apparently it was my Dad's mum's go-to-hairstyle. Stylish lady, evidently.

I think I'll be back to the indoor outfit photos next week though. I'd almost finished posing and looking off to the side when I realised that my next door neighbour was watching me with a bemused smile. OH THE EMBARRASSMENT.

In other news - I HIT 500 FOLLOWERS! I'm so excited, because I really like round numbers and 5 is TOTALLY my favourite times table, you guys. I am plotting a giveaway to celebrate, and I promise I'll get it up soon!

  4. Loving the post title. I may have screamed that song at the top of my lungs as we drove across Yorkshire last week, or erm I may not have done.

    Your neighbour is nooo-seeee!
You look fab and stripes suit you. As does the hair. I'm just realising that my hair is now long enough to play around with. I'm going to give that style a go this summer.

  13. Love this outfit - you look great :)

I constantly do that 'try everything on/find things I'd forgotten I owned' thing.. In fact, speaking of things I'd forgotten I owned - I definitely bought that dress once upon a time.. in black. I distinctly remember. (I didn't, until I saw you wearing it of course) However, I have NEVER worn it. & I don't even recall ever having seen it, since its purchase.. (Not such an uuncommon occurrence in my room, worringly) So, I'll have to go on a hunt & see if I can turn it out from its hiding place - you have inspired me!

I LOVE your hair like that. I WISH I could do exciting things with my hair. But I can do nothing. I lie. I can tie it up. Or I can leave it down. That's the extent of my hair skills :(

This comment has gone on long enough!

  16. I'm supposed to stay away from stripes as well but they're just too AMAZING. I'm liking the hair style and am very jealous you're going to Glasto...come onnn ticket resale x

  17. I don't know who invented that stripes rule but they are clearly a moron. I reckon as long as the stripy garment in question fits nicely and is flattering, it's a winner because stripes RULE. And that dress looks wonderful on you - shape and fit are perfection.

  19. Omg my legs are exactly the same! It's bad but I don't even bother with sunscreen on them because they stay the same...white. They've been burnt once, and I'm not even quite sure how that happened.

By the way, very cute dress. The stripes are tres flattering on you =]
