There's a car boot near me on every Sunday which I love - it's big, it's not full of loads of knock-off DVDs, and it starts at midday, so no crazy early mornings. I picked up some amazing finds there last year - including some vintage suitcases and an amazing sewing chest which are all displayed proudly in my room - but by far my favourite item was this quirky little cocktail book from the 1970s. It was 10p.
I would love to meet the author of this book. I'm picturing an elderly gentleman who wears a smoking jacket all the time.
Aaaand now I want a cocktail.
AMAZING!
ReplyDeletehave you tried any of them?! i really want a cocktail now :(
ReplyDeletehehe I love these old books, they're the best!

70's cocktails? just make me think of snowballs! ick! hope there are some better ones in your book lol! x
ReplyDeleteSuch an amazing find, I love the old cover and spine xx
ReplyDeleteI'm the same with Car Boots and other peoples junk is always my treasure (I think that's called hoarding?) - I always have dreams about other peoples junk, like I find an old derelict house and go rooting through the attic and find loads of gems hahaha! xx
ReplyDeleteMake me a mojito and call it a day! yum.

Try some, and have a party for us all :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a hardcore carbooty fan, my (good) local one doesn't start up until Easter time, so I have a while to wait. I started selling before buying, and having slowly started to increase the days I get up on the Sunday morning to have a nosey around. x
Brilliant find!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to a car boot in ageessss! Not sure if there's any decent ones my way! Will have to investigate!
You should try some out and do picture posts :)
xx
I imagine that his notebooks are rather stained with cocktail dribbles in extravagant colours. Maybe the odd cherry squished between the pages...
ReplyDeleteThis book looks amazing! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a great little book! Definitely try out some and let us know.
ReplyDeleteI love the description of Misc cocktails. Sums it up perfectly.
xx
This looks awesome - I have the Savoy cocktail book - add that to my recent love of Mad men and you will have one incredibly drunk girl for the rest of the year!

ReplyDeleteSounds like a fantastic car boot! I am definitely on the hunt for vintage suitcases this summer, and a vintage cocktail book would certainly not go amiss!
